Split ends occur when we damage the hair shaft with things like dyes, chemical treatments, styling tools, and pulling a brush through knotted hair.
While this serum can’t actually refuse the hair, it can minimize the appearance of splits and help to prevent further damage. This split end treatment recipe is perfect and it is all natural.
Shelf Life: 6 months—1 year
Benefits: Argan oil is loaded with antioxidants, linoleic acids, omega-6 fatty acids, and vitamins A, C, and E.
We chose argan oil, which is often called “liquid gold” by beauty experts, because of its ability to penetrate deep into the hair shaft and seal the cuticle of the hair.
Lavender is great for all hair types and helps to nourish and moisturize hair.
Tips and Tricks: You can use this serum on your ends to help nourish the hair and flatten the split ends. You can also use it as a preventative treatment to keep your hair nourished and protected so that split ends are less likely to occur.
The vanilla extract is optional but smells so lovely in combo with the lavender oil that you won’t want to leave it out!
Other ways to avoid split ends include minimizing the use of heat appliances, drying your hair with a cotton t-shirt rather than a towel, avoiding harsh dyes and chemicals, and changing up the position of your bun/ponytail to avoid using a hair elastic in the same spot.
Variations: Sub lavender oil for any of the hair friendly oils
How to Use: Place a few drops of the serum into your palm and rubs hands together gently to warm oil, before applying to damaged areas.
Note:Split ends don’t just occur on the ends of your hair! Breakage and fraying can occur anywhere on the hair shaft and is often found in the middle where your hair is held in an elastic.
